Nightmare (ƒiƒCƒgƒƒA, Naitomea?) is a Japanese Visual Kei band. It should be noted that there was another Japanese band by the name of Nightmare, but they were a thrash metal band from the 1980s.Formed in 2000, the lineup consists of Yomi on vocals, Sakito (çl) and Hitsugi (žl) on guitar, Ni~ya on bass/cello, and Ruka on drums. In August of 2003, Nightmare released their first major label single "-Believe-" on Nippon Crown (“ú–{ƒNƒ‰ƒEƒ“).Nightmare's sound can be described as heavy rock with a strong bassline. The band's sound basically revolves around the deep vocals of Yomi. Sometimes they do slower rock songs like Suna, but usually their songs are fast and upbeat.
Nightmare's new single "the WORLD" is being used as the opening for the popular anime Death Note. The second track of the single, "Alumina" is used as its ending.
